Arg! Continuity error! Easily fixed, but . . . I had Never on Embassy at first, with the understanding that she'd be based there until they had a diplomatic agreement and embassy on the One World, then she'd be the Kingdom of the West's ambassador to the Empire of the One.

So who's the ambassador now on Embassy, representing the Kingdom to the Multiverse?

I need to go through some old stories and find a likely person. And I must resist the impluse to send Tanner Trick in. Just because an ambassador from Comet Fall who didn't believe in magic would be such a bogglement to the Oners.

Um, I'm just re-reading God of Assassins, so....

Franki? I would foresee a strange effect on clothes and fashion.... but he's got some political experience and sort of ambassadorial experience, and he's Family, and .... I don't think you've written anything about his "glow" or experience in magic.

And he could associate with almost anyone who dresses well, etc.

You've got a colorful cast of characters you can consider for the post. Starting with those with some royal blood, you've got Staven (who we've seen little of since Earth Gate), Never's sisters, Rustle's sisters, the Iron who was loyal, and the flamboyant Franki (might make the wrong impression on the Oners). Going a bit farther afield, one of the offspring of one of the dukes. Or a strong but reasonably-trusted (by the royals) magician. Happy? Clearly can't be Nil.

I think Franki may be just the person. His eccentricities will leave the Oners with the not quite sure feeling about the Kingdom. Like any predator, the One is...cautious...around what does not react as expected. EG., the continuing comments about how the Fallen don't react the way the One expects.

Actually, it might be simpler, if Never is supposed to be in Paris, for Ajha to see her there and for her to send a messenger to Xen at Disco, copy to her colleague on Embassy.

Nothing requires Never to do more than approve a visit to Comet Fall by the One Ajha which is well within her area.

Of course you could easily change that one reference to a he
