I need to get a bit further ahead on _Short Term Assignment_ So over the weekend I could entertain you with a story placed just after _Purple_ or with "Rael returns to work after Dancer"  neither finished, mind you . . . so perhaps the word is infuriate, rather than entertain.

I'll find pretty much anything in WotG entertaining, so whatever works for you.

What would be most useful? Can we typo something?
We are an easily entertained crew, I do believe.

Do you guys want to typo Outcasts and Gods? I need to fool with the links list and so forth, and might as well clean it up a bit while I'm at it.
Bretbretw on May 29th, 2015 08:30 pm (UTC)
Sure. It's been a least a couple of months since I last read it and it's one of my favorites.

Are you gonna do a recall on the printed copies? :-)
matapampamuphoff on May 29th, 2015 08:42 pm (UTC)
Dude, I think my mother may be the only person who ever bought one.
Bretbretw on May 29th, 2015 09:25 pm (UTC)
I've got one and I'm not your mother! I'm completely certain of those two things! :-)
matapampamuphoff on May 29th, 2015 09:51 pm (UTC)
Wait . . . you mean my own mother failed to buy one! Just kidding. But I don't think I sold more than three or four. So, recall isn't going to happen.

My main purpose is to replace the book list with active links, and to put a link to my mailing list in it. Once I get around to setting up the list . . . So I'm not actually too worried about the print books.
Bretbretw on May 29th, 2015 09:59 pm (UTC)
It's cool that your mother's a fan. Has she read the whole series? Like, including The Black Goats?

I'm also glad you're doing the mailing list thing. It should boost sales and I'm sure readers appreciate it. Win-win!

When she finally broke down and bought a kindle, I loaded everything on it. I don't actually know if she's read them. She's 89 and does read a lot, so I don't think I can shock her too badly.

I have Outcasts and Exiles both in my shopping cart in print version (for Dad). I am dawdling on hitting purchase because I expect an Amazon gift card from the Symphony I play in within the next couple weeks, and I have more things in my shopping cart than I can afford with the money I currently have uploaded.

Is this exactly the same text as Amazon ?

I have a question would Annakarina aka AK be better as AnnaKarina ?

This should be the file I uploaded to KDP, although I may have stuck in a correction now and then, so it was fixed the next time I uploaded. And I swapped in the links list.

In the same spirit how about changing 'telies' to Telies or Tellies ?

Your call.

Where to stop capitalizing? Does Telies fall into the "Blacks and Caucasians" category or the "scientists and mathematicians" level? I know it's a grey area, haven't a clue which way might be right. I suppose it's more of a race than an occupation, and probably ought to be capitalized.
Bretbretw on May 30th, 2015 11:42 pm (UTC)
Either way is fine. Consistency is nice though.

I see that Tellies (capital T, double l) is used in Directorate School
matapampamuphoff on June 4th, 2015 01:52 pm (UTC)
The school is as up to date as possible. Someone went and interviewed Charlie Alpha. Disco and Embassy have been around for 2+ years now.

I've finished my typo pass. I went with the "when in doubt, mark it, and let Pam decide whether she likes the edit or not." Several others also have edited. I'd bet at least one is British, so there's not always agreement.

Check for extra spaces, either a single space at the beginning of paragraph, or two adjacent spaces hither and thither.

Are you ever gonna tell us where Jaejong Chou came from?

I've got two really objectionable Bad Guy worlds. The Helios/Cannibals wouldn't fit, but the Cyborg Home World could be his original world. I doubt I'll commit to that, though. The cyborgs are the people who were after Eldon in _Saturday Night_.

So they've had gates or dimensional capability for a long, long time before Wolf and the gang was born? Or how did Chou get to Earth?
matapampamuphoff on June 3rd, 2015 02:39 am (UTC)
Marooned explorer. He recreated his genetic engineering and financed research into gate tech for half a century, trying to get home. He is entirely a creature of my subconscious, I had no plans for further complications to the story. I love characters like that. Ebsa's the most recent.
